With assistance from the Children's Justice Task Force and the New York State Children's Alliance, comprised of experts in law enforcement, child welfare, mental health, medicine and victim advocacy, CARCC encourages multidisciplinary efforts in the following ways:

Assessment and Technical Assistance Services
Based on the belief that each community faces unique challenges in developing and sustaining a multidisciplinary team, CARCC provides assessment and technical assistance services to eligible counties in New York State. These services enable the selected counties to assess their level of team functioning, identify their current challenges, and to make plans for change. Teams receive an assessment report and have the opportunity to utilize CARCC's technical assistance and informational services to help implement their action plan. Counties can apply for assistance by contacting CARCC at (718) 330-5455.

CARCC has provided individualized consultation services to 60 multidisciplinary teams and child advocacy centers statewide. CARCC has supported the growth of CACs statewide from five in 1996 to 24 in 2003 |
Training
CARCC provides periodic regional trainings throughout the year. Training topics are determined by needs identified by counties across the State. The Center's trainings are designed to enhance critical skills in team building, treatment interventions and investigations. The Center also provides conferences open to professionals across the state. CARCC will be coordinating its next statewide conference for teams and centers in the spring of 2004.
