This training will specialize in investigations involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of high-risk/chronic runaways, the victimization of children through prostitution and cases involving children who have had repeated reports of victimization. Additionally, this training will provide participants with the skills to proactively identify cases with children who have repeat/multiple runaways in order to identify current or past victimization using case studies and practical application.

The conference is conducted for the sole purpose of providing training to only those people employed by governmental agencies or nonprofit agencies in the fields of law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, social work, children's advocacy, therapy, and medicine who work directly with child victims of crime.

Strategies for Justice
August 23 - 27, 2010 / National Harbor, MD


Strategies for Justice offers an advanced training for experienced child abuse professionals in the environment that reinforces the importance of collaboratio. Participants will explore the linkages between child abuse, intimate partner violence, and animal abuse. Medical presentations will focus on the cases we often struggle to investigate appropriately, such as serial child torture/neglect, strangulation, drowning, hypothermia, hyperthermia, and burns. Strategies for Justice will include opportunities for specific communities of professionals to meet and share ideas. This conference leaves participants equipped with the more current child abuse research to improve our outreach on behalf of child victims.
