Advanced Forensic Interview Training
June 19 - 22, 2012 / Huntsville, AL

Each day of the Advanced Forensic Interviewing Training will focus on one of the major developmental stages of children: preschoolers, latency age children, and adolescents.  Information about the physical, cognitive, linguistic, sexual, and psychosocial issues for each stage, as well as implications for the interview will be explored.  The class will focus on specific and concrete suggestions for managing developmental issues within the interview.  The training will balance sharing of knowledge-based information, direct review and discussion of interviews with children within each of the stages, and offer best-practice considerations.

This training is specifically designed for experienced professionals who have responsibility for initial forensic interviews of children. It is recommended that the interviewer have at least two years of interviewing experience and have attended a recognized basic training in Investigative/Forensic Interviewing (i.e. National CAC Training, APSAC, APRI, CornerHouse, etc.). Participants are asked to bring one copy of a recorded forensic interview, which he/she conducted, for peer review.
